I will not capitulate!
Tell your master: This Throne will never seat a Norman King. Your archers will fall, the conscripts will abandon you, your errant Knights will betray you. I will fight alongside the lowliest foot soldier, the noblest Knight, and see your heart on the end of my sword…
Tell your master:
If I die before your head is impaled upon my lance, rest-assured no one in this Kingdom will let you live a moment longer than my last breath…
Take that to your noble master and may he choke on it. Save us some time…and arrows.

Nice! Really enjoyed it.
Thanks. Didn;t you do Fri Fictioneers? I haven’t seen you there. I know, it’s hard enough for you to study let alone do any challenges. Thanks for coming by Zheng. Lucy
Yes, I actually posted mine this morning. It’s a fun challenge to do each week. I posted the link in inlinkz, go check it out!
Nice. it flowed so smoothly. I could hear the speaker saying the words. Congrats.
Randy
Thank you. I think I heard the voice of Max von Sydow, a bellowing, booming voice. Thanks again for coming by Lucy
Yeah, that’s telling ’em!
Well, the phrase “bite me” wasn’t appropriate. Or maybe “tell your master to shove it were the sun don’t shine”. Lucy
Good job, Lucy! I’m still trying to figure out what to write for this one. I better figure it out soon or take a pass. The mind seems on hiatus this week. 😉
Thanks. The voice of the king that was in my head was that of Max von Sydow. It’s not due until Mon or Tues I think.. After writing English King I have a need to read something about King Arthur, but I have read everything. Maybe Amazon Prime has something. I’ll fall asleep. Lucy
Whenever I think of Max von Sydow, I think of the stiff-necked evangelist in the film ‘Hawaii’ or the gloomy Christ figure he played in one of the Bliblical flicks. I was hearing Richard Burton when I read your English King’s words. No anemic king would Richard be, but a strong, robust – even tragic – one. I haven’t read much about King Arthur. Years ago, in school, I read Idylls of the King. That was a long time ago, though.
I hadn’t thought of Richard Burton. He would do. It’s just I’ve been a follower of Max von Sydow since I first saw him when I was a young teen in Ingmar Bergman’s “The Seventh Seal”. He was often in Bergman films. I was always so impressed with his mastery of English while being Swedish. Lucy
Love the previous comments about “bite me” and “shove it …”. What you wrote truly boomed like Max von Sydow and said so much more…. Nice
He sounds like a very tough cookie. Convincing monologue.
Thank you. Too bad. The Normans won. Lucy
Wow. That would scare me off!
Yes I would think so. Thanks for coming by. Lucy
Lucy, Those old fellows were tough. The Normans might have won, but they really had a fight on their hands. Well written. Good story with great dialogue. 🙂 —Susan

Say it like it is! The tone and language was excellent.
Thank you so much. Personally, I always wanted to be King. I appreciate your comment and stopping by. Lucy
The poor Norman king did not know he was fighting destiny for if he would have won the World history would have been very different. The power drips from each word. Excellent.
Thank you so much. Yes, the world would be different. Thanks again. Lucy
That’s the attitude..!! Awe-Inspiring King!!
Well described.. 🙂
Thank you so much. The King is my hero. Thanks for coming by. I appreciate your comment. Lucy
