Always

“Hey, Buzz.   Don’t let me down, man.”

“Have a little faith, Jubal.   I’ll be right there at your side, like always.”

‘What about that time in Memphis…?”

“That was you, Jube.”

“Sorry, Buzz, you’re right.  That’s on me.  Even, okay?”

“We’re always even, old friend.  Remember, I’ll always be there, Jube.  On your left….”

*
“Buzz here yet, Vin?   We’re on in an hour.”

“Real sorry, Jube.   Buzz was killed in a car wreck last night.   His old lady just called.   He was outside Houston.”

“What?   She’s crazy, Vinny.   Buzz called me today.   Said he’d be by my side… like always…”

  1. Sounds as though Buzz was going to be there, one way or another. Good job.

  2. Dear Lucy,

Someone’s not telling the truth or Buzz was making a very long distance call. Nicely played.

Sweet story. Nice dialogue. I’m sure Buzz is still there, by his side like always 🙂

  4. Very touching story. In times of despair look into the mirror and you’ll never be alone, cause in your eyes and in your smile you hold memories of your loved ones.

  5. Shandra says:

That was a great story. Truly, Friends forever. Wonderful use of the prompt. Shandra

  6. The friendship shown in this story is amazing. Ghost or no ghost, living or dead, long distance or short drive. Thank you.
