Wart

“Where is everyone?  They just left.   Will they return when they need me again, Wart? ”

“Most likely, Myrddin.”

“I will not help them.  One day I will possess the power to punish the transgressors.   Take THAT you ungrateful worms….”

A sudden gust of wind startled the boys.

“Wart, hurry!   Seize the sword!   She comes!”

Wart freed the sword as he had done  twice before….TOO LATE!

The Lady appeared before them:   “Too slow.”

Wart put the sword in her outstretched arms.   “May I try again?”

The Lady studied Wart:  “What is the magic word?”

About

When I was a kid I wanted to be an "atomic" scientist. Not anything my mother expected of me. Well, I became a scientist, just not an atomic one.

So many magic words to choose from. Interesting use of the prompt.

  2. And the magic word is–“Please!” 🙂 Arthur/Wart. Haven’t thought of that for some time. Thanks for the reminder.

PLEASE! Good story and cute. Thanks for entertaining me! Nan 🙂

  4. Liz Young says:

Of course the word is ‘please’ – is there a prize for guessing right? Nice story.

  5. Dear Lucy,

Clever story. It’s always good to remember the magic word and let’s not forget to follow it up with “thank you.”

    Shalom,

    Rochelle

Clever story, politeness always wins 🙂

  7. Judah First says:

Anything that smacks of Arthurian legends ranks pretty high up on my list. Nice job! I imagine myself playing this game of make-believe. 🙂

    • Lucy says:

I used to consider myself an authority on the Arthur legend(s). Give me a gnarly old stand of trees and you’ll get either Arthur or Robin Hood. I’ve forgotten more than I remember Thank you for stopping by. Lucy

Seriously, tell me what you think
