Zero to Hero Challenge #23

Roundup:  three women, three careers, three blogsImage

Women occupy a unique place in society. They juggle work– their careers, while caring for their families.   Women, who produce and care for our young and are in charge of their own economic fates are the major contributors to our society.  Well, that’s what I think.

I  selected three posts, by women, who each have stories to tell about themselves.  I recently discovered Hacker, Ninja, Hooker, Spy by Aussa Lorens.  Next is Flamingo Dancer’s Blog which I have followed for awhile.   And then there’s the  newbie, L’avocat Mode

What can I say about Hacker, Ninja, Hooker, Spy?  All her posts are a great read.  Aussa writes about her strange life events, including her workplace, which is even stranger.  The post “Workplace Biatches” is a good starting point. From there she updates us on the saga of her position at a Psych Hospital.  Don’t miss any of them. They’re hilarious.

You have to love Flamingo Dancer’s Blog, although she is a bit of a goddess.  She is a librarian-teacher in  Australia.  I thoroughly enjoy her little tidbits on her life or just her thoughts for that day.  I really got to know her in her chapter “The Unemployment Chronicles”. She is a librarian who, out of necessity, became a teacher. Her entire blog is a must read.

And then there’s L’avocat Mode.  The author is a criminal lawyer. The theme of her blog was spurred on by events in the post “Weight and the Workplace”.  It’s a short piece but it is something that we have all seen or heard about:  discrimination.  It’s just sad to hear it from one of our own.  The blog is new and although the author has given her mission statement, I tend to think it will evolve into something more in line with her professional experiences.  See what you think.  Just click on the pink links.

It was difficult selecting three blogs and from there, three posts.  There are so many talented people in the blogging world.  There are so many great blogs.  I have to say, myself being new to blogging, that WordPress is an excellent host for these amazing bloggers.

When I was a kid I wanted to be an "atomic" scientist. Not anything my mother expected of me. Well, I became a scientist, just not an atomic one.

Hmm…are you saying women are the only ones who juggle work, their careers and their families? In this day and age is that still the belief? Maybe I should tell my wife

Seriously, tell me what you think
