Monty Python is not my pet snake

Image

Monty Python was a British comedy group that created Monty Python’s Flying Circus which first aired on BBC in 1969. Members included Graham Chapman, Eric Idle, Terry Gilliam, Terry Jones, John Cleese and Michael Palin. Unfortunately, Graham Chapman passed away in 1989

I am opinionated when it comes to Monty Python.  The two best movies are The Holy Grail  (1974) and The Life of Brian (1979). Graham Chapman played King Arthur in the Grail and Brian in Life of Brian. Most people know the Arthurian Legend, but not quite the way the Monty Python crew depicted it. And The Life of Brian is about Brian, who was born in the manger next to Jesus and life for him went downhill from there.

If you have never seen either movie and you love the British sense of humor, you’ll like these two movies. I’ve included two YouTube clips for your enjoyment, they’re my favorites. The first is from The Holy Grail when King Arthur crosses the path of some of his subjects. The second from The Life of Brian includes  the stoning scene of a blasphemer. Only men are allowed at stonings, so the women have donned fake beards to attend. Enjoy.

About

When I was a kid I wanted to be an "atomic" scientist. Not anything my mother expected of me. Well, I became a scientist, just not an atomic one.

“What have the Roman’s ever done for us?”
    “AQUADUCTS!”
That is my favourite quote from the Life of Brian by the way. I’m not just one of those guys who starts a comment with a rhetorical questions about ancient history.

Seriously, tell me what you think
